The Chicago OG Legend Brings His Signature Disco & House Sound to San Diego for an Outdoor Day Party at Quartyard This Labor Day Weekend

San Diego, get ready for RAHAAN — hailing from the birthplace of House, Rahaan is an internationally known and highly regarded representative of Chicago DJing, musical style, and culture. His humble beginnings in the 80’s playing disco at house parties around Chicago have led to his present day globe-trotting life filled with underground parties, rare and obscure dance vinyl, and a miles-long list of edit and remix productions. His exceptional skill behind the decks, exquisite taste in music, and that Chicago born-and-raised ear have earned him worldwide cred and catapulted him from the Chi-town underground circuit out onto the international playing field of Dekmantel, Boiler Room, Berghain, and every club country in between… Japan, Australia, Amsterdam, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, throughout America… and finally he’s here, for us, in San Diego.
BUMP & THE DEEP END are ready to turn you into fresh Rahaan fans at this special daytime collaboration Saturday September 2nd.
Quartyard’s recently upgraded soundsystem will sing with Rahaan’s signature Chicago disco and house sound along with BUMP / THE DEEP END residents Bob Dazzla, Filoso, Shige, and Eric Medina setting the party up right on the opening warm up.
Joining the openers will be Jungle Fire percussionist Steve Haney, complementing their records with his own unique drumming grooves that have previously accompanied performances and recordings for Stevie Wonder, President Obama, Greyboy Allstars, Sly & Robbie… Steve Haney’s impressive list of credentials goes on and on.
Food & Record vendors incoming at this party and if you like BUMP & THE DEEP END musical style, you’ll love to see who’s selling vinyl at this jam. Quartyard’s locally-loved Coffee & Beer Garden will be open for business too, slinging drinks to keep you cool, with extra shade on this end-of-summer day-into-night provided by the recently opened Quartyard Cabana.
